Campaign Priorities

Steady leadership grounded in conservative values.

The Treasurer's office isn't a policy-making job — it's a stewardship job. Every property tax dollar in Douglas County passes through it on the way to our schools, fire districts, towns, and county services. That's why Tim's priorities aren't slogans: each one maps directly to something the office actually does.

💰 Fiscal Responsibility

Every taxpayer dollar accounted for, managed with integrity.

The Treasurer is the county's banker. Between the day your property taxes are collected and the day they're distributed to schools and districts, that money sits in the county's care — and Colorado law says it must be invested with safety first, liquidity second, and yield third. Tim has spent his career making exactly these kinds of executive financial decisions.

  • Invest county funds conservatively and by the book — no chasing yield with taxpayer money.
  • Distribute every collected dollar to schools, towns, and districts accurately and on time, every month.
  • Run the office itself lean — the Treasurer should model the fiscal discipline it expects of others.

🔒 Accountability & Transparency

Open books. Clear records. No surprises.

You shouldn't need to file a records request to find out what's happening with your money. The Treasurer's books belong to the people of Douglas County, and Tim believes the office should make it easy — not merely possible — to see where every dollar goes.

  • Keep clear, accessible public records of collections, investments, and distributions.
  • Report regularly and in plain English — not buried in jargon or fine print.
  • Answer to taxpayers directly: if you call the Treasurer's office with a question about your money, you deserve a straight answer.

🏢 Taxpayer Stewardship

Serving the people of Douglas County — especially when it's hard.

Some of the Treasurer's most consequential work touches people at their most vulnerable: the annual tax lien sale for delinquent taxes, and the Public Trustee's role in foreclosures and releases of deeds of trust. These duties must be carried out firmly and by the book — but also fairly and with basic decency, because homes and livelihoods are on the line.

  • Administer the tax lien sale and Public Trustee duties with strict integrity and zero favoritism.
  • Treat every resident — homeowner, senior, small business — with respect and clear communication.
  • Protect property owners by getting the details right the first time, every time.

👪 A County That Works for Families

Well-managed money is what makes family amenities possible.

The Treasurer doesn't decide how tax dollars are spent — but sound collection, investment, and distribution is what makes it possible for the entities that do to deliver. On Castle Rock's Town Council, Tim has championed the parks, recreation, and community spaces that make this a great place to raise kids. As Treasurer, he'll make sure the financial foundation under those priorities is rock solid.

  • Ensure schools and districts receive their distributions accurately and on time — they budget around it.
  • Earn honest investment returns on county funds that reduce pressure on taxpayers.
  • Bring the same follow-through that helped deliver the Crystal Valley Interchange and the Castle Rock Youth Commission.
